Astro 7.4.4 Upgrade Checklist: Adapter Tags & Patch Coverage

This checklist is for the Astro 7.4 branch. Version 7.4.4 documents support for configuring tagged official adapters through astro add. It is a core Astro release, distinct from an @astrojs adapter's own version.

Before updating

Record your Astro version, adapter version and deployment runtime separately. Install the exact core target with npm install --save-exact [email protected]. Do not assume an adapter must use the same version number as Astro.

Suggested validation

If you use tagged adapter versions, try the configuration workflow on a temporary branch. Inspect package.json and the lockfile to confirm the intended adapter was selected.
Build and preview the site with your real adapter configuration.
If you are also crossing 7.4.3, inspect external-script/style CSP output and image srcset values. That earlier patch documents fixes in those areas. Test failed deferred-island requests if your site uses them.
